What a weekend!

Wow, what a cool weekend it was for our family!

We went up north to see my sister graduate with her Bachelor’s degree on Friday night, and WHILE she was getting her diploma, my sister-in-law gave birth via C-section to my newest niece!! She wasn’t planned to arrive until Sunday but had to come earlier due to her mom’s elevated blood pressure. Anyway, it made for a BUSY and fun 24 hours!

Here’s me with 2 of my siblings (my oldest bro was obviously with his wife, who had just had the baby).

And here is a picture my oldest bro took with Baby L just minutes after she was born! She has dark hair and lovely chubby cheeks. She was 8 lbs 7 oz and 20″ long!

And lastly, here is my Lauren packed in the Ergo going to meet her new cousin (I think it was around 10pm, so she was really a trooper…)!

The next day after the graduation & birth of Baby L, we held a little graduation brunch for my sis at my bro & sis-in-law’s condo community room. It was a nice time and Mar brought a few of her college friends, too. I can hardly believe she is a college graduate – where does the time go!? It was sad not having Mom there to watch her graduate or to meet the newest grandbaby, because I know how proud she would be, but these are times when I just remind myself that we will see her again someday and will be happily reunited! What a joyous day that will be!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful weekend Kelly. So many changes going on in your family…so many good, blessed, and memorable experiences. We don’t have a lot of time in life to sit around and loaf….as it keeps moving, rearranging, annnd stretching us. Hold onto your hats! It’s a wild ride…and I’m so glad the Lord is in control. Love to you and your wonderful family! ❤

    • Hi Aunt Bonnie! So true about how quickly life changes, isn’t it? Looking forward to this next year to see all the blessings & additions coming everyone’s ways! 🙂

  2. It was a great weekend, having all my kids and grandkids together, including newborn Lyla Rose. And we’re so proud of Mary Anne, now a college graduate!

    Love, Dad/Grandpa

  3. Kelly I just can’t get over how much Lauren has changed in the last month or so! She is looking like a big girl, not an itty-bitty baby so much. Nora’s hair is slower to grow in, but she has changed too. Congratulations to your family all around, I’m glad you were able to be with all of them! I saw you mention something about this on FB, and I wondered if it was your one sister who had graduated AND given birth, Ha Ha! that *would* have been something :0)
